Types of fatigue : Acute vs Chronic

Fatigue can be classified based on duration and underlying causes:
Acute Fatigue – Short-term exhaustion, often due to stress, poor sleep, or temporary illness.
Typically resolves with rest.
Chronic Fatigue – Persistent tiredness lasting 6+ months, potentially linked to medical conditions (e.g., anemia, thyroid disorders) or chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS).
Unlike normal tiredness, chronic fatigue isn’t fully relieved by sleep.

How is Fatigue Diagnosed?

Since fatigue has many causes, doctors may recommend:
Blood tests (checking for anemia, thyroid issues, or vitamin deficiencies).
Sleep studies (if sleep apnea is suspected).
Nutritional pattern (for regiments high in caloreis low in nutrients)
Mental health screenings (for anxiety/depression).
Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) diagnosis requires ruling out other conditions and meeting specific criteria
(e.g., unexplained fatigue lasting ≥6 months).

Natural Remedies & Lifestyle Changes for Fatigue

Small adjustments can significantly boost energy:
1. Nutrition & Hydration
Eat iron-rich foods
(spinach, red meat) if anemia is a factor.
Balance blood sugar with protein + complex carbs (e.g., nuts + whole grains).
Avoid energy crashes by limiting sugar and caffeine.
Stay hydrated—even mild dehydration worsens fatigue.

2. Sleep Optimization
Stick to a schedule
(7–9 hours nightly).
Limit screens before bed (blue light disrupts melatonin).
Try relaxation techniques (deep breathing, meditation).

3. Stress & Mental Health
Practice mindfulness
to reduce stress-related fatigue.
Therapy or counseling if emotional exhaustion is a factor.

4. Gentle Movement
Light exercise
(walking, yoga) improves circulation and energy.
Avoid overtraining—excessive workouts can worsen fatigue.
